We must go back to farming – President Buhari insists

"We must go back to farming," President Buhari said this during his working visit to Zamfara State yesterday.

His words:

[ads-post]

“As the people of the state are aware the change agenda was the central issue of our 2015 electioneering campaign.

Since this administration’s assumption of office in May 2015, the journey to fix the country and restore the hope of the common man in the Nigerian project has begun in earnest.

You have all agreed to join me and work as agents of change, the challenge of all of us, therefore, is translating the change into reality. I, therefore, wish to call on everyone to think closely about the Nigerian situation.

There is no easy money to throw around; we must go back to farming, livestock rearing so that we could develop the industries. We must put our hands on deck to ensure the success of our mission in engineering Nigeria.

If efforts were made in the past to diversify the economy from our absolute reliance on a single commodity, we would not have found ourselves in our current situation. I assure all Nigerians that the grim economic situations are passing phase which all societies go through.”

Read what a Nigerian Northerner Wrote About the Visit On His Facebook Wall.

"It was absolutely proved to be wrong for a person claiming to rebuild infrastructures and upgrades the standard of education and health facilities as a President reporting himself abroad for ear treatment and as well sending his children to graduate from foreign university. It was really observed that the words go differently with the actions when the nation’s boundaries were closed it was declared that there shall be an import substitution strategy by the Nigerian govt, therefore everybody must farm to eat rice. We expected the same thing to be applied in health sectors that including our leader's nobody would have admitted his self for foreign hospital and that nobody would have admitted his children to foreign universities so that the Nigerian govt would have developed an expertise in every sector to salvage the Nigerian and enhance the economics status quo. Things are now moving another way round (unexpectedly).Buhari is to visit zamfara state to commissioned a single road that was commissioned by other govt representatives severally not to expose the secret of d matter with regard to insecurity issues in zamfara state. very unfortunate Buhari‘s actions go against his spoken words most frequently. If the changes would have comes to us in this way we consider it another way round. Allah ya sauwake" – ‎Abdulmunafi Usman‎
