4 Things You Never Knew About Olamide

4 Things You Never Knew About Olamide

Its only few artists that can release back-to-back commercially successful albums like Olamide Adedeji, one of the most successful Nigerian rappers.

Olamide’s 2011 debut album ‘Rapsodi’ thrust him into national prominence and ever since he has become the face of indigenous hip-hop.

Below are four things you never knew about the rapper who recently released his sixth album, ‘The Glory’.

1. Olamide Adedeji says he fell in love with music at “first sight” before the age of 11. His first performance after discovering his talent was at a “hood jam festival” in Ladi Lak, a community in Bariga, Lagos.

2. Olamide’s best childhood experience was with his father. The rapper has fond memories of being taken to the amusement park to go on rides.

3. At some point, the indigenous rapper was the most featured artiste in Nigeria but nowadays, he has his eyes set on foreign collaboration. Beyond these shores, Olamide says he would love to work with American hip-hop artiste, Jay-Z.

4. Before meeting ID Cabasa, Olamide was known as G-Dog (a hardcore rapper who flowed in the English language). ID Cabasa advised the rapper to change his stage name to ‘Olamide’ and helped him develop his indigenous style of music.

I Wish All My Children Were From One Woman – 2Baba

I Wish All My Children Were From One Woman – 2Baba
In an interview with Punch, African music icon, Innocent Idibia aka 2baba opened up on his displeasure of having seven children from different women including his wife Annie Idibia.

He said:
“It is really tough to talk about it. Honestly, when I look back and examine that aspect of my life, I wish it never happened. I wish all my kids came from one woman. I love my children and there is nothing I can do to change the situation . I have moved on and I am married to one of the women who bore me kids. I no longer dwell on that issue.
On his relationship with his children, he said
He tells with delight in his voice:

I am not the strict type because I have a soft spot for kids. As such, my children always get away with so many things when I am around. Their mothers are the ones who discipline them. I pamper my kids,’’
On the possibility that any of his children would follow in his footsteps?

He affirms this and adds that some of them are already exhibiting signs of taking up music as a career and rather than dissuade them, he is prepared to give them the encouragement they need to succeed.

Commenting on the motivators in his life, Tuface says that one of the things he strongly believes in is the fact that the sky is big enough for everyone to fly as there is adequate space. He continues:
“It is just like the millions of stars that you see in the sky at night. Notwithstanding their number, there would still be space for more stars to shine. That is life and nature at work, so there is space for all of us. I always say that nobody should think that he or she is luckier than everyone else in life because that is a farce. As an individual, do not think that there is no space for the next person to thrive. For me, that is how I see life.’
Even though he dropped out of school many years ago, he looks forward to a time when he would be able to go back to earn a university degree. In a pitch that shows sincerity, he says,
“Maybe I’d give it a thought once again. I am going to keep trying and I would never give up on education.’’
Having weathered several storms in his career, Tuface has a word of advice for up-and-coming artists. He said:
“I just want them to know that going into music is serious business. More so, they should challenge themselves creatively and be able to explore all avenues. They must not be held back by any challenges that may come their way. When they combine all of these together, the road would be easy.On my part, I am just going to keep doing good music and keep bonding with my family. For me, I am just doing my own thing so I am not in competition with anyone. I am on my own lane and wouldn’t have it any other way,’’

Reason Behind Relationship Failures Of Celebrities Revealed By Actress Juliet Ibrahim

Reason Behind Relationship Failures Of Celebrities Revealed By Actress Juliet Ibrahim
She made the shocking revelation in a recent interview with Saturday Beats. When asked if she is open to love again, she said:
Of course I am open to love. I don’t really look out for anything in a man because I believe if the right person is there, God would definitely bring him my way and I would just feel it. .

I would just know. I don’t have a list of quality a man must possess. It also has to do with the man’s personality because from the first greeting, you can tell if we would click or not. I don’t really have so much I expect in a man but I know that he has to be God-fearing. .
.
With the kind of industry that I have found myself, you can only pray for a God-fearing man who would not listen to rumours. There are lots of evil spirits and people who are always ready to break relationships because we are in the limelight. They feel we do not deserve the best; that is what I noticed. They just don’t want us to be happy.

Stop Calling Me Gay - Actor Benson Okonkwo Cries Out
Popular Nollywood actor, Benson Okonkwo’s sexuality has been in doubt over the years. While some people would readily swear that the actor is gay, others have argued that he is bi-sexual.

However, in an interview with Saturday Beats, the actor opened up.

He said:
I don’t listen to what people say about me anymore. I am just living my life because it is too short. The more you listen to people, the higher your chances of having high blood pressure and death. .
You only live once and if you let people’s comment take you to an early grave; it is the same people that would come to your funeral. I have never given a damn about anybody’s opinion when it comes to the way I live my life. I am not gay and I have never acted in a porn movie because I am not a p-orn star.”

“It is very true that when I was starting out in the movie industry, it was difficult to get roles because of my complexion. I faced that a lot and I tell people that my success is just grace. Somebody once told me that I am too dark but that is where the grace and favour of God comes in."
