The National President of CAN Ayo Oritsejafor Says Boko Haram 's Hidden Agenda Is To Islamic Nigeria....

Ayo Oritsejafor, the National President of theChristian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has accused Islamist militant sect Boko Haram of working to turn Nigeria into an Islamic state. He said this yesterday at the Quarterly National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the association in Makurdi.“I symphatise with families that have lost their loved ones to the activities of Boko Haram in the country. Let me also inform that about 80 per cent of those killed are Christians.I agree that some of our Muslim brothers are also killed, but such groups of Muslims are those the Boko Haram think have betrayed them. The fact is that the hidden agenda of Boko Haram is to have an Islamic state in Nigeria as we now hear and see in Iraq and Syria. I think the insurgents are gradually advocating for a Jihad in Nigeria, which is not a good development for the country” Oritsejafor was quoted saying at the event.

FIFA Have Suspended Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).....

The world football governing body, FIFA, has suspended the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, with immediate effect from all activities in football. The suspension was announced in a statement released on their website thisevening Wednesday July 9th.FIFA said the suspension was due to government interference in football activities, particularly the controversial removal of the Aminu Maigari-led board of the NFF. A High Court sitting in Jos had on July 4th sacked Aminu Maigari and other executives from the board of the NFF. This suspension by FIFA means no Nigerian team or club can participate in any FIFA competition.“As a result of this decision, no team from Nigeria of any sort (including clubs) can have any international sporting contact (art. 14 par. 3 of the FIFA Statutes),” FIFA said.Read the full statement after the cut...The FIFA Emergency Committee has decided to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect, on account of government interference. Article 13, par. 1 and article 17, par. 1 of the FIFA Statutes oblige member associations to manage their affairs independently and with no influence from third parties. The decision follows a letter sent by FIFA to the NFF on 4 July 2014, in which it expressed its great concern after the NFF was served with court proceedings and consequently an order preventing the president of the NFF, the NFF Executive Committee members and the NFF Congress from running the affairs of Nigerian football was granted by a High Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The said court order compelled the Nigerian Minister of Sports to appoint a senior member of the civil service to manage the NFF until the matter was heard in court, without giving any date for such a hearing. The authorities then appointed a person who decided to convene an extraordinary general assembly on 5 July 2014. This extraordinary general assembly was convened in violation of the NFF statutes.Originally, an elective congress had been planned by the NFF to take place on 26 August 2014.The suspension will be lifted once the court actions have been withdrawn and the properly elected NFF Executive Committee, the NFF general assembly and the NFF administration are able to work without any interference in their affairs. As a result of this decision, no team from Nigeria of any sort (including clubs) can have any international sporting contact (art. 14 par. 3 of the FIFA Statutes). During the period of suspension, the NFF may not be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, or in friendly matches. The most immediate effect is that Nigeria will not be entitled to participate in the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup (5-24 August 2014) should the suspension not be lifted by 15 July 2014.In addition, neither the NFF nor any of its members or officials may benefit from any FIFA or CAF development programmes, courses or training during the suspension period.

FG Arrest Some Politicians Over Boko Haram Due To The Accuses #Bringbackourgirls Campaign Of Running Bank Accounts.....

The Federal Government said it has arrested some politicians over evidence of their ties with the dreaded terror sect, Boko haram.Speaking at a news briefing today at the National Information Centre Abuja, the Coordinator of the Joint Information Centre for Security, Mike Omeiri, said following the recent arrest of some members of Boko Haram in Bauchi and Borno states, some materials retrieved from them after detailed investigation had evidential links with the politicians they have arrested. He however declined to disclose the names of the politicians. Continue...Also speaking, the spokesperson for the State Security Service SSS, Marilyn Ogar accused the #bringbackourgirlscampaign of running bank accounts. She said the Nigerian security agents have information that the #Bringbackourgirls campaign now operate bank accounts and also compel members to register and carry tags before joining.  In a swift reaction, the convener of the #bringbackourgirls campaign and a former Minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili in a telephone interview with Channels TV this night, refuted the claims made by the SSS spokesperson."It's absolute falsehood. In fact I call it a cocktail of falsehood. We don't need bank account. This is strictly a citizens movement and neither do we need to register members. There is no person who walks over to the Unity Fountain that has not participated in our meetings. There is absolutely no truth to that and I think that should really worry Nigerians that our own state security sadly could actually put out such....I don't even know what to call it".Asked how the campaign is being funded, Dr Ezekwesili said;"Well its very simple. The needs that we have are so basic. Its the Tee shirts and I can see some of the people in tee shirts and I can see some of the people wearing those face caps, that's all we need and what normally happens is that all these members you see there, some bring in 10 Teeshirts, some 100. There is nothing that will need any kind of money, so you know this is really a pedestrian kind of falsehood" she said
