Massive Explosion Hits Bayelsa State
A Massive Explosion rocked a Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) pipeline spanning Orukari, Golubokiri and Kpongbokiri communities in Brass local government area of Bayelsa State. Though the attack was blamed on militants.
Similar attacks were carried out last week in Garamatu Kingdom in Delta State, less than 24 hours after a Federal High Court in Lagos issued a warrant of arrest against former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo in connection with a case of money laundering. The former warlord has denied having anything to do with the explosions.
The latest bombing has resulted in a massive spillage of crude oil on the waterways and at fishing camps. A statement in Yenegoa by member of the State House of Assembly representing Brass Constituency 1, Isreal Sunny-Igoli, confirming the incident, said preliminary investigations into the incident showed that it was an act of sabotage carried out with intent to hurt the economic interests of Bayelsa and Nigeria

Former President Jonathan Finally Explains Why He Conceded Victory To Buhari In 2015
Goodluck Jonathan, The immediate past Nigeria’s President has explained why he conceded victory to President Muhammadu Buhari shortly after the last presidential election.
Speaking during a dinner in his honor by Cercle Diplomatique, Geneva, Switzerland, Jonathan said he relinquished power to Buhari because he did not want Nigeria to be turned into a war zone with people dying and many more pouring into other nations in Africa and beyond, as refugees.
“I never knew that the human brain had the capacity for such enhanced rapid thinking. One hundred and one things were going through my mind every second. My country was at the verge of collapse. The tension in the land was abysmally high and palpable, in the months leading to the election. The drama is getting more interesting Double Wahala singer, Oritsefemi is very upset at the interview his ex-manger, Danku granted where he said he brought him out of the slum and made him who he is today, Oritsefemi in an interview with Saturday Beats claims he only met Danku in 2014 after he released his famous song, Double Wahala and was already a star said what Danku is doing is called defamation of character and he would be dragging him to court.Read Below;
“Danku just left the house one day and never came back. I don’t have anything against him. The day he left, I was not home, he just took my Acura MDX SUV and all the money I had in his account. I feel that is a criminal act and it is enough for me to arrest him. I have just been watching him without saying a word but I think it is time to talk. I went to Ondo State and before I got back, Danku had disappeared. I called him that I had returned and he should come home, he said okay, but never came back.
“During that period, my Instagram account was hacked and it was reactivated by one of D’banj’s friends, Harold. I gave Danku N50,000 to pay Harold but he did not pay and Harold did not grant me access to my account. At first, Danku did not tell me that he did not pay the guy, instead he said that my Instagram account had expired and I was marvelled. I got Harold’s number and he told me he was never paid. I called Danku to ask why he did not pay Harold, all of a sudden, he told me I should never call him in my life and if I tried it, he would place a curse on me. He said my problem was too much and he didn’t want to have anything to do with me.
“I had to involve D’banj who helped us to settle the problem with Harold. I told Danku I would understand if he wanted to be left alone but he should return my money and car but he refused. I have decided to sue him.”The singer alleged he empowered Danku’s mother even though he did not get his own mother a job.
He said,
“I placed my mother on a monthly salary but I empowered his mother’s business with N1m. She is into a business where she needs boats and I bought her two other boats with the one she had before. When his grandmother died, I spent a lot of money to bury her on his behalf. All these his family members know.”
“He said he brought me out of the slums of Ajegunle but I met him in 2014 through a mutual friend who owns Cash Entertainment. He is a big liar to say he used to give me money. He has never given me any money in his life. He knows me especially when I was in Ikeja; boys in the area know how I give people money. I am not a stingy person. I started making money since I was a young boy and my people in Ajegunle know me. I have housed so many boys in Ajegunle so how would he say he used to give me money? I knew him after I released my song, ‘Double Wahala’. It is a blatant lie for him to say he promoted the hit song. I introduced him to so many television stations because I allowed him to represent me. If he says he was the one that promoted ‘Double Wahala’ for me, was he the one that helped me to promote the song, ‘Mercies of the Lord? I did not know him till 2014 to show that he is a liar.”
“He says he owns MSN Gang but that is a big lie. I registered that company name myself and created every logo of the company. He now manages an artiste, Rayce, and he put my logo on the guy’s work after I warned him not to do so. Because of that, I will let the law decide who is wrong between us. He has never given me money in his life; instead I have always been the one giving him money. I have witnesses to prove this. When he was ill, I was the one that picked his hospital bill, I have all the receipts. I am taking him to court him and he will have up to 20-count charge. Why will he leave my house with my car and money? He has been lying about me and I would sue him for defamation of character. How would someone whom I do not know from Adam say he picked me up from Ajegunle?
“This year would mark my 25th year as a singer; I started from Sunday Rendezvous in 1996. The first multinational show that I performed at was Benson and Hedges golden show. Where was Danku then? He has been dancing to my songs since he was a kid and he knows I am a legend in this country. He used to tell me all this and now, he tells people he brought me from the slum; this was someone I fed. I am going to sue Danku, his artiste, Rayce, and one HD who shot the video because they used my logo without my permission.
“I will arrest Danku and his mother as well and all the money I spent on him would be recouped. If they don’t arrest him, I will impound the boats because I was the one that bought them,” he said.

FCT Minister Opens Part Of GEJ Expressway To Ease Traffic
The Minister in charge of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammad Bello, on Saturday opened part of Goodluck Jonathan Expressway in the Central Business District of the capital to ease traffic.
Before now, the Goodluck Jonathan expressway was known as Inner Southern Expressway (ISEX).
Mr. Bello urged the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing to consider the full expansion of the Abuja-Keffi Road to 10 lanes to reduce traffic bottlenecks on that axis.
He said the expansion of road to 10 lanes with interchange bridges at critical junctions would guarantee traffic flow in and out of Abuja city from the North-East axis of the country.
Mr. Bello recalled that the FCT administration had already expanded the Kubwa and Airport roads to serve those entering into the FCT from the northern and southern parts of the country, respectively.
The minister reiterated that the FCT administration decided to open part of the road to reduce the gridlocks around the city centre, particularly at peak periods.
Represented by Babatope Ajakaiye, FCT Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bello said the road was 90 per cent completed.
He emphasised that the FCT administration would fund ongoing projects that impact positively on the lives of residents.
“The policy is to continue with all ongoing projects that will impact positively on the lives of Abuja residents and Nigerians at large”, he said.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority, Adamu Ismaila, said the road traverses the city from phases I to phase IV.
Represented by Umar Gambo, Director of Mass Housing, Mr. Ismaila said the road connect the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) within the precincts of Kuje township.
He said the ISEX started where the Abuja-Keffi Road terminated at Mogadishu Barracks in Asokoro District.
“The road is designed as a 2×2-lane service carriageways and 2×3-lane main carriageways making a total of 10 lanes with four interchanges and four box culverts at various locations”, Ismaila said.
He said that the scope of the project included underground and surface storm water drainage, power supply, a pedestrian bridge, street lighting and telecommunication ducts, among others. (NAN)

Lai Mohammed to Goodluck Jonathan on Arms deals says you will be Probe at the Right Time
Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has replied former president Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, he said you will be probed if found implicated in the arms deal scandal.
The ex-president had mentioned the minister when he addressed a world press conference in Geneva on Wednesday,27th January 2016.
“As for the Information Minister(Lai Muhammed), you quoted, I was not president in 2006 but in 2010.He said about 15 former governors of states were corrupt. I believe for the Minister of Information to say that, he must name the 15 governors. I also believe the list must be with our security network. The truth will still come out.”
Lai Mohammed however replied on Friday at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife where he delivered a speech at the Faculty of Arts Distinguished Guest Lecture with the theme “Nexus between Corruption and Under-development of the Nigeria State”.
“The presidency does not micro-manage the anti-graft agencies and the presidency does not decide who to be probed at any point in time. The anti-graft agency will probe him if they feel that he has questions to answer and they would do their job at the appropriate time.” he said.

Pastor Who Bought SUV N350k Thinking It Was Blessing From Above, Has Been Arrested (Pictured)
Mitsubishi Pajero parked on the premises of the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, was a church sticker bearing the picture of a 32-year-old Presbyterian pastor from Umuahia, Abia State, Rev. Titus Onwuchekwa. In bold letters beside the pastor’s photo on the sticker are the words “Too blessed to be cursed”.
True to those words, Onwuchekwa, who was paraded alongside two notorious stolen car dealers by the police during the week explained that he thought God had brought a blessing his way, when he bought the SUV for a mere N350,000,Punch reports.
Onwuchekwa was paraded with the car dealers, 32-year-old Felix Osas, who sold the vehicle and 32-year-old Ndibe Samuel.
Ordinarily, a used 2005 edition of Mitsubishi Pajero is sold for between N1.4m and N1.8m but when Osas presented himself as the seller, he told Onwuchekwa that he could give up the vehicle for N500,000.
Onwuchekwa, who is popularly called ‘My father, my father’ in his church circles in Umuahia, said he had come to Lagos to attend a Christian programme when he sighted the 2005 Mitsubishi Pajero in Alaba area of Ojo, Lagos and he dialled the number of the seller pasted on the car.
“He gave me the price of N500,000 but I told him that I could only afford N350,000 and after we haggled a little, he agreed to sell the car. He said he would sow the car as a seed into my life for that amount provided I pray for him regularly.
“He said he needed regular prayers and I paid him N350,000 with a promise that anytime he needed prayer, he could call me and I would always pray for him.”
When asked if the cheap price of the vehicle did not raise his suspicion at all during the transaction, Onwuchekwa said he believed it was indeed a blessing that had come his way.
“I even went home to share the testimony of how I bought the vehicle,” he said.
What about the vehicle particulars and the Customs papers presented to him, Onwuchekwa said they all bore the names of Osas, which was what doused every suspicion he had.
But these are not enough to exonerate Onwuchekwa who continued to maintain his innocence.
Osas explained that few weeks after Onwuchekwa bought the Pajero, he contacted him again and asked to buy a 2001 Toyota Camry for N250,000, a vehicle which under a normal circumstance, he would have sold for at least N900,000.
This proved to be the nail on the coffin for Rev. Onwuchekwa as the police said he must have known he was buying a stolen vehicle if he did not mind coming back for a second car despite the suspicious price of the vehicles.
Osas, who runs Happy Home Motors, was all smiles as he narrated how Onwuchekwa fell victim of his criminal trade.
“I don’t think he actually knew that he was buying a stolen vehicle. If he did not come back for more, the police would not have arrested him along with us. I don’t steal these vehicles myself.
“In fact, I don’t knew where they came from. I got them from one of my friends, who told me to re-register them in my name. When I asked him where he got them, he confided in me that they were stolen.
“I bought the Pajero I sold to the Pastor for N300,000. I have only bought two vehicles from him before. I also bought the Camry from my friend for N300,000. It is the same one the pastor wanted to buy for N250,000.”
Osas said he had been selling vehicles for seven years after he realised that his initial business as a mechanic was not yielding profit as he wanted.
The young man did not show any remorse as he explained that it was the business he had been using to feed his family.
“I learnt car sales from my uncle and decided to establish a business of my own seven years ago. I actually did not set out to start selling stolen vehicles. It just happened that the prices were too cheap for me to avoid it.”
Samuel on the other hand, said he was not a stolen car dealer. He explained that he simply bought a vehicle from his in-law, which turned out to be a stolen vehicle.
“He told me that the 2001 model was fairly used and I bought it for N700,000. All the documents bear his name, so I did not suspect it might have been stolen. I am just a medicine store owner, not a criminal,” he said.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, said the suspects would soon be charged to court.

Angry Man Stabs Friend Over 200 Naira Burial Levy In Onitsha [See Graphic Photos]
This guy (photo below) was stabbed by his friend this evening just because he couldn’t complete the burial fee that was levied on him.
The total amount for the burial is 1000 but the guy brought 800 Naira and promised to complete the money tomorrow. The guy collecting the money refused to collect the 800 insisting that he must complete it.
They started quarrelling which eventually led to a fight. The other guy who came to collect the money stabbed the other guy three times with a broken bottle.
The guy is currently battling for his life in the hospital. All thanks to the men of the Nigerian police force who rescued and brought the guy to hospital.
